We recently shared our news about the appointment of Ellie as a trainee youth worker at Brighter Futures in Rhyl. This month we’ve been hearing how Ellie is settling into her new role. Thanks to the project funding from The Neumark Foundation, it has been fantastic having Ellie joining us as the Trainee Youth Worker. In her first month, Ellie has settled in very well and already taken up supporting Denbighshire Leisure with the delivery of sports session, and leading sports session herself, Ellie has also been supporting young people in the kitchen in planning and preparing meals and assisting with the running of our IT room.
Ellie completed her first community project which included her organising with the young people a session to make cakes, contacting the police via email, calls and face to face visits and taking the young people to the station to show support for our community policing team. We hope that Ellie will continue to have such a great impact in helping support young people in our programmes. She is already making a positive contribution.
“We are delighted to see how much Ellie has been able to achieve, even in a short time. It’s a privilege to be part of Ellie’s journey and we can already see how this funding is helping Brighter Futures deliver their impressive work in Rhyl.”
