  • We were delighted and so grateful when we heard in July that we had been successful in our application to the Neumark Foundation for funding to support a full time youth worker in the Abergele Youth Den. The application process was straightforward, and it was a pleasure to meet with trustees at the beginning of the process. Our monthly reports keep the trustees informed of how things are going in the Den and it’s always lovely to read their encouraging feedback. The trustees take an interest in every detail of our project, and it is an honour and a privilege to be working in partnership with them. Together we are changing young people’s lives for good, enabling them to thrive and giving them hope for the future.

  • We’ve worked with different funders over 25 years and can honestly say our experience of the Neumark Foundation has been the most positive – reports are read and responded to, an obvious wanting to understand the lives of the children and young people we support and the process we offer them in all it’s ups and downs.
    The funding has allowed us to be creative and innovative as we attempt to find an education that suits the needs of the children and young people and as we attempt to find ways to support them to manage the impact of trauma. Neumark allows us to take risks with the opportunities we create, knowing they won’t all succeed.
    We have a funder who is in our corner and that allows the voluntary/community sector to fulfill it’s role of adding value and creating new ways of dealing with current issues.

Panathlon has provided sporting and physical activity events at both mainstream and special schools starting with a small number of competitions, to now engaging in a wider range of sports / competitions and to the wider North Wales area on the back of Neumark Foundation funding. From pupil voices, we know that they value what both organisations provide and raise the profile of Inclusive Sport and the perception of what ALN children can do.

From the very beginning, The Neumark Foundation’s interest in the research upon which this service was built, their belief in the work that we do and the difference that it makes-in an area which for so long has been underfunded- has meant that we can meet the needs of so many girls, offering compassionate, empathic and tailored support. The results of this are improved mental health outcomes and increased understanding of the impact of neurodiversity in females; the challenges they face and the strengths that they bring.
