North Wales Young Carers, funded by The Neumark Foundation, have launched their exciting Summer Programme of activities for young carers across Wrexham, Denbighshire, and Conwy.
Professor Saul Becker, Neumark Foundation Trustee, world leader in Young Carer research, and Research Director at Manchester Metropolitan University said, “School holidays can be especially stressful for the thousands of young carers who live in North Wales. During holiday weeks, young carers are at home with little or no respite or break from their daily caring routines for family members, including parents and siblings, who have an illness, disability, mental health or other condition which requires them to receive care and support from children in the family. Providing young carers with a break from their caring roles is often a lifeline, enabling them to enjoy some time away from caring responsibilities, and be with other children in similar circumstances. That’s why the Neumark Foundation is proud to support a range of activities that give young carers a break during the difficult holiday period.”
Exciting activities and visits are planned throughout the summer, with Go Karting, Tubing and Tobogganing and a trip to Conwy Castle, to name just a few of the activities and opportunities provided by North Wales Young Carers. We can’t wait to see the pictures!
