Joshua Tree Children’s Cancer Charity

We are absolutely delighted to announce that The Neumark Foundation Board has agreed to continue support for wonderful regional charity, The Joshua Tree, who provide incredible support for families impacted by childhood cancer across North Wales. This year we have awarded the charity, £20,005, to help them grow the work they do and the number of families they support across North Wales.

The work provided by this charity is so important. More than 1800 children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every year (Great Ormond Street Hospital). It is something no family ever wants to think about, or can plan for, so should the worst happen, often the parents, siblings and wider family members feel terrified and alone and in talking to Parents in north Wales, they identified to The Joshua Tree that other challenges they find include, a lack of respite opportunities, difficulties balancing their quality time with siblings of the child who has been diagnosed with Cancer, and also financial struggles can be significant due to having to travel for treatment and sometimes leave employment to support their child and family. It is charities like The Joshua Tree who provide a lifeline of support, information, interaction, activities, and opportunities, to enrich and enlighten life through the provision of a diverse range of support options and activities, at very painful and dark times, for all members of the families.

“The last 12 months has been exciting for us as a charity, we are ambitious and confident we can support more families affected by childhood cancer. The funding provided by The Neumark Foundation is enabling us to do this so thank you. Your support in invaluable.”
