A year ago, on 9th October 2025, we came together at Rhyl Rugby Club for the Your Voice, Your Rhyl summit. People who live in, work in and care about Rhyl shared their experiences, ideas and hopes for the town’s future. The voices of more than 500 young people, captured through BRHYLiant research, helped shape that conversation.
Since then, we’ve been listening, learning and getting to know one another. We’ve visited local projects, talked with schools, community organisations, businesses and public services, and learned more about the work already happening across Rhyl.
With support from Place Matters, our February workshop helped us explore what we’d heard at the summit and where we could work together. In May, we gathered to watch a webinar and discuss what we could learn from other places. In June, we welcomed Made in Stoke for a day of visits, conversations and shared learning.
We’ve also been talking with funders and partners about how to support this work for the long term.
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed us, shared their time and ideas, asked questions and helped make connections. You’ve helped us understand more about Rhyl, its strengths and the possibilities ahead.
Now we’re excited to share our next step. We’re working together as partners towards appointing our first Programme Manager to lead the next stage of our discovery work. We’ll share more about the role and recruitment soon.
Discovery means building on what we’ve already heard, spending more time with residents, young people and organisations, and bringing together local knowledge to agree what we want to work towards together.
That’s what place-based working means to us: starting with Rhyl, its people and its strengths, and shaping the next steps together.
We’re one year in, with much more to learn and do. We’d love you to be part of what comes next, so please get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
